Public Relations Diversity a Bad Idea?

I was searching the web for diversity related PR blogs, and one blog post caught my attention. I ALWAYS want to hear the other side--this post talks about diversity as it relates to public relations, but this PR professional believes it is a "false idol". It's interesting. Take a look, and tell me what you think.

Thank you for highlighting this post. I think it ultimately comes down to how you define diversity. This blogger seems to group diversity together with affirmative action and segregation. I'm curious to learn how other people define diversity, because I don't define it that way at all.

My idea of diversity utopia was my involvement in International Student Association in college. People of several countries successfully put on a huge festival despite our differences, and my status as a domestic student had no bearing on how I was treated.

I also get the impression that he thinks lesbian, gay, and bisexual people should not disclose their sexual orientation to their employers or clients!? That decision is entirely personal and he should support his non-straight colleagues either way. Won't it advance rights in the long run if employers and clients realize some of the best workers aren't straight?
